Shop Cell Phones From AT&T, Nextel, Verizon, and T-Mobile

HTC is now bringing the S740 in the same design language, with piano black finish and faceted back, resembling a diamond. In contrast to the first two, the new model is based on Windows Mobile Standard operating system and its screen is not touch sensitive. It is successor of the S730 and has similar form-factor: a side-slider with full QWERTY and a 12-key numeric keypad when closed. Similar to the Touch Pro when you open it, a menu with shortcuts to some applications will appear, but unlike it, the QWERTY is in four instead of five rows. One of the pictures shows that the interface looks similar to the TouchFLO, but it won’t be in tabs as the TF3D. It is still unknown what the Internet browser is, but we hope it is not just the regular Internet Explorer.

The S740 is for the European market, being a quad-band GSM and dual-band 900/2100 MHz UMTS/HSDPA 7.2 Mbps phone. In the U.S., it will be usable as a phone but for data one will use only EDGE or Wi-Fi. It features integrated aGPS, 3.2MP camera without auto focus, 2.4-inch QVGA display, microSD slot, 256MB of internal memory and 256MB RAM. It will be available across Europe in September, but pricing is not announced.
